Shenaz Mohammed, BA (Hons.), LL.B

Shenaz has developed a unique experience in the Canadian fashion industry, she helped co-founded and was Director of Operations for a prominent Toronto based luxury menswear label which has showcased in numerous fashion weeks, leading to incredible hands on experience in creating and directing a brand from start to finish. As an Internationally trained lawyer, her knowledge in business law and marketing allows her to provide guidance and generate partnerships in a variety of industries. Her formal education comprises of an honours degree in Sociology and Psychology and a Bachelors of Law from the University of London. This formal education has instilled her with the business acumen, discipline and precision required to curate a successful company and brand. Her hands-on fashion experience has enabled her to understand and work effectively with creative entrepreneurs.

Shenaz is also the founder of the Charter of Fashion an online platform inspired by research and development while serving as the Business Development Ambassador for the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards. Shenaz’ has had the opportunity to travel across the country meeting various Designers, she acquired an understanding of their position and unique struggles in monetizing their marketing efforts, generating sales, and determining what works in the fashion industry.

Alessia Monastero

Alessia is a first year student at Osgoode Hall Law School, having just recently graduated from the Schulich School of Business with a dual-specialization in Marketing and Responsible Business. With her background in business and a strong interest in practising law in the entertainment industry, Alessia co-founded the style-law blog, Unprecedentedly Chic, to address legal issues within the realm of fashion.

Alessia has also immersed herself within the Osgoode community through founding Osgoode’s very own Fashion Law Society, as well as volunteering as an Innovation Clinic Fellow and Editor for IP Osgoode. She currently works part-time as a Piano Instructor at Arcadia Academy of Music, in which she continues to build upon her passion for music.

Alessia has always had a keen interest in working in an environment where her love for fashion and law combine. Through her past experiences, she has been able to better understand the corporate structure of the fashion industry, and looks forward to applying her legal knowledge in addressing pressing intellectual property issues.

Pamela Metani

Pamela is currently pursuing her Juris Doctor at the University of Western Ontario, having obtained a double major in Philosophy and French at Wellesley College in Boston.

Realizing she wanted to practice law from a young age, Pamela has acquired practical experience in many areas of the law. Most recently, she completed an internship in entertainment law with top industry player, Entertainment One. Additionally, her experience at the Council of Europe bettered her understanding of human rights law and her involvements at both Western’s Community Legal Services and Pro Bono Students Canada have deepened her understanding of criminal law and family law.

Having lived and travelled around the world, studying diverse fashion trends has always been a passion for Pamela. With her legal studies well under way, Pamela is excited to further explore the intersection of fashion and the law. Her dream is to play a part in transforming Toronto into a global go-to for fashion.
